No one is more surprised than me that I've made it to photo 300.
I feel a bit like I'm dragging my feet on this project lately. I need a little inspiration. This isn't even a great photo, but I've been putting together my 365 book and couldn't locate this file for picture 31:365.
And this is proof of a few things I've learned in the last 300 or so days: 1. My workflow and photo organization is so.much.better. Thank you, David Molnar. I think it was back in May when I made the leap and changed how I organized everything. While I was hesitant, it's so much easier to find my photos and RAW files when I need them. They all have a specific place on the computer and are organized brainlessly. 2. My editing! I often wonder if I've even gotten better in this area. When I found this RAW file, I imported it into LR and edited it. And compare back to December 1 when I actually posted this photo. Oh my word! Again, this isn't a well composed photo, but if I remember correctly, I was practicing with light and shadows. And I distinctly remember how frustrated I was in LR because it kept turning out so yellow, dark, and defined. It took me two seconds today to edit this one. And BAM! So much better. I've not been perfect in taking a picture a day. Honestly, I've missed lots of days, but my goodness! The growth! As even more proof, just this week I've officially booked my first solo wedding for next summer, got another call for a potential wedding, and have four booked photo shoots in September. Sunday at church, two friends asked if I do family portraits because they've "seen my photos on Facebook and just love them." WHAT?! I'm really not trying to toot my own horn here, and I'll always be humbled that I have a long way to go, but for today, I'm really thankful for the journey of this project. To any photographers out there, my blog speaks for itself. If you want to get better, practice. Take lots of pictures. Make lots of mistakes. And capture great moments in the process. Enjoy the journey. After all, we all have a story to tell! Oh my word! He's growing up too much!!
